During the intensity measurement process of UV LED curing machines, we often find that the intensity values measured at different positions or distances of the curing machine vary greatly. So how should we measure them correctly?
Measurement method:
If the ultraviolet light emitted by a UVLED curing machine is consistent everywhere, then measuring is much simpler. The ultraviolet light emitted by UVLED curing machines radiates in all directions. Since it does not travel in air, a non-uniform medium, it does not satisfy the inverse square relationship with distance, so the UV intensity values of UV LED curing machines vary depending on location or distance.
Light from the UV LED curing machine enters the detector of the UV energy meter from various angles. The readings on the UV energy meter from the top and diagonal directions are different, which is called cosine deviation. The UV energy meter corrects deviations through cosine correction to reach an appropriate value. The more oblique the direction, the greater the error. Therefore, try to keep the UV energy meter detector in the center of the light source to measure the standard value.
